My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phi.4:19)

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 Jn.2)

God wants you to experience His provision. He wants to meet all your needs and prosper you in every area of your life. God’s Word declares that God wants you to walk in financial provision.

Everything belongs to God (Ps.24:1). He is the Creator, Sustainer and Ultimate Owner.  We as His children can experience His provision. God is Jehovah Jireh, who provides for all your needs. (Gen.22:14) He is your Good Shepherd who will take care of you. (Ps.23:1). Jesus made total provision on the cross for you to get saved (Rom.5:8), to receive life (Jn.10:10), blessings (Gal.3:14) and abundance (2 Cor.8:9).

As a Church, we want you to experience God’s goodness and power, live victoriously and be blessed.  We want to see you experience God’s financial provision, not just being a survivor but a conqueror. I pray as you read this article, you will experience a tremendous breakthrough in the area of your finances.

What hinders us from experiencing financial provision?

  • Not willing to relate to God, the source of all provision
  • Not willing to believe and obey God’s promises
  • Ignorant of God’s promises (Hos.4:6)
  • Not willing to pay the price

God promises financial provision but it does not mean it will happen automatically. God has given you many promises which are conditional. He will do His part but you need to appropriate your blessing by obedient action.

  • Be a God Seeker

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Mt.6:33)

To experience God’s financial provision, be a God seeker. Seek God first; put God first. If our hearts are for God, God will bless.  God is the owner of everything. He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider.

Our priorities will determine our prosperity. Let God be Priority No.1. Abraham, Isaac, Moses and Joshua all prospered because they sought and honored God and God honored them. Have a kingdom mentality. Our motivation for prosperity must be to honor God and be a Kingdom builder. It is for God and His people.

  • Be a Persistent Prayer

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Lk.11:9,10)

God’s principle has always been prayer. For you to experience His provision, bring your needs before Him in prayer. God answers prayer.  Ask and it will be given. You have to ask. You have to ask according to God’s will. It is His will to provide for us. When Jabez prayed, God answered and prospered him.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, ‘Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!’ So God granted him what he requested. (1 Chr.4:10)

  • Be a Wholehearted Obeyer

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Jos.1:8)

Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God. (Dt.28:1,2)

Those who prospered in the Bible were people who obeyed God. Obedience brings God’s prosperity and provision. Obedience brings forth blessings. Our journey to financial provision is a journey of obedience. Obey God wholeheartedly and God will bless you. Hear what He says, and do what He says, and He will do what He says.

  • Be a Generous Giver

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully (2 Cor.9:6)

A crucial principle in experiencing financial provision is our giving. We need to give generously. This was one of the keys in Abraham’s life. As God prospered Him, he gave a tithe, a tenth of his income (Gen.14:20).  This was the first of many instances of tithing in the Bible.

Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’  In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse. For you have robbed Me. Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. (Mal 3:8-10)

Tithes and offerings carry the promise of blessing and prosperity. It is the first fruits of our income, given to our store house, the local church.

The generous soul will prosper.(Pro.11:25) Generous giving brings generous receiving. Whatever you sow, you will reap. Give and you will receive (Lk.6:38). Giving releases God’s favor and miracles into your life. Cultivate a habit of giving generously.

  • Be a Hard Worker

He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. (Pro.10:4)

Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep-So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man. (Pro.6:6-11)

All men of God who prospered worked diligently. They gave it all they had. One of the biggest hindrances to success is laziness. If we are lazy, nothing is going to happen. God blesses people who work diligently. The hand of the diligent is blessed. So be hard worker, be faithful and God will prosper you.

  • Be a Faith Activator

All things are possible to him who believes. (Mk.9:23)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Heb.11:6)

Dare to believe God. Our confidence must be in Him. Our faith must be in Christ and His Word. It is faith that pleases God and we must activate faith to receive His provision.

The 10 spies in Numbers 13 & 14, didn't believe God. Their lack of faith in God controlled their destiny and affected their future. Joshua and Caleb put their trust in God and believed God and God blessed them. Faith releases miracles and the provision of God.

With Christ you can do it (Phil 4:13). With Christ, you can see financial breakthroughs. With Christ, you can be blessed. Dare to believe and expect financial miracles to take place.

  • Be a Wise Manager

We are stewards of what God has given us. As stewards, we need to manage our finances wisely. Ownership is God’s, but He wants us to manage what He has given us. Many have lost blessings because of unwise stewardship. To manage wisely, we need to:

  • Give unto the Lord our tithes and offerings (Mal 3:8-11)
  • Budget, plan and save
  • Spend wisely, do not be impulsive in our spending.
  • Pay our income tax (Mt 22:21)
  • Clear debts, reduce borrowings
  • Seek advice, listen to wisdom, get counsel and help (Pro 3:15)
  • Do not covet what others have
  • Be willing to change & improve

It is God’s will for you to experience His financial provision. God will do His part but we need to do our part. Obey God and position yourself for financial provision.
